Lofoten Tourist Centre (Lofoten Turistsenter) is a combined camp site and restaurant. It is situated in Alstad, in the heart of Lofoten, midway between the two major towns of Leknes (30km) and Svolvær (40 km). It is only 30km from Leknes Airport and only a short distance from Lofoten Golf Links, the Viking Museum and many of Lofoten’s coastal gems. All of Lofoten's extremities can be reached by car within 90 minutes.

Lofoten Tourist Centre is set in beautiful scenic surroundings. You can haul your catch ashore from calm fishing lakes, or put your skis on in winter and take a trip up the majestic mountains for which Lofoten is so well-known. Furthermore, the mountains surrounding Lofoten Tourist Centre are very well suited to those who like to move around at higher altitudes, and perhaps even spend the night on the summit. When night falls in summer, you can see straight out in to the ocean where the midnight sun paints the heavens in spectacular colours.

Ever since Lofoten Tourist Centre was opened in the early 1990s, it has been a base where tourists can get everything they need to ensure that their experience of Lofoten is just as it should be.

The camp site offers 6 cabins of varying sizes to suit your requirements. If you come in a motor home or with a caravan, you will find everything you need here. Arrangements have also been made for those who prefer to stay in a tent. The Tourist Centre is set in rural surroundings and the children can therefore frolic in quiet and safe yet exciting setting.

In the restaurant our chefs are ready to give you a taste of Lofoten. We serve food that is 100% home-made in accordance with time-honoured traditions. All meals are based on traditional, local ingredients. Service and hospitality are first priority and we will do our best to ensure that when you leave us, you will be completely satisfied – and leave with the pleasant aftertaste of Lofoten’s culinary culture.

In 2008 Lofoten Tourist Centre was voted Nordland’s best roadside restaurant.
