Øvergården House - the Old Residence
To the left of the bakery
stands Øvergården House, or the old manor house as it was also known. It
was built between 1871 and 1875.
Before this, the servant's quarters, borgstua, were found there.
The building belonged to Ole Maas, the former owner of part of the fishing village.
Øvergården House was built by Johan
Ellingsen and it is now a listed building. At one point, the male shop
staff lived here, including the shopkeeper, clerks, the administrative
assistant and the post officer. |
