Whether you want to cycle round Lofoten, from Holandshamn to Å, or explore a smaller area, your experiences are bound to be unique! The next bend in the road constantly reveals new, indescribable panoramas. The question of weather pales to insignificance; wind, rain or shine, this region is magnificent and unusual. Good equipment and sensible clothing makes your trip the best adventure.

Program:

1. Individual arrival to Svolvær, Check in at the Best Western Svolvær Hotel. After dinner INFO and you will get maps, descriptions etc. for the next days.

2. Early morning departure by expressboat to Holandshamn at 8 a.m. We recommend you to do the trip to Storfjell with return (14 km) or to Årstein with return (14 km) before you continue along Raftsundet. You will cycle on charming small roads with light traffic and beautiful nature around. Overnight in Kongsmarka chalets where the hostess welcome you with coffee/tea. ( 30km)

3. Enjoy the whole day in Kongsmarka with deep-sea fishing or fishing in the river or the lakes. We also suggest night hiking in the beautiful area. Hares, grouses and other animals may be seen.

4. The whole day you will be in a very wild but charming nature. Cross the beautiful new bridge across the Raftsundet. Less traffic and you will cross the Sløverfjord through an underwater (3340m) tunnel in addition to the Myrlandtunnel (1910m) and the Falkfjordtunnel. (500m) After a day in breath taking nature, you arrive in the evening in Laukvik where you stay in small but comfortable huts. Make your dinner. Piont of view for the Midnight Sun.(58 km)

5. Stay over in Laukvik and relax in special and charming surroundings. Rent a boat and try deep-sea fishing and make your own fresh fish meal afterwards. We also suggest a hike to the 782 m high mountain Matmora where you will have the most fantastic view.

6. You have cycled full circle and are back in Svolvær again. You will have time to experience the "Svolværgeita" peak ( the Svolvær goat ) and you may visit the Art-Centre of Northern Norway. After dinner you will discover the charming nightlife in the harbour area of Svolvær.

7. Follow the main road and stop in Kabelvåg, a little, charming village where you find Lofoten Aquarium, Galleri Espolin and Lofoten Museum. To day the route ends in Henningsvær, also known as "Lofoten's Venice". A favorite tourist attraction because of the unique atmosphere in amongst the fisheries. You will stay in the new, charming hotel at the water front. ( 25 km )

8. Towards Gimsøya. Have a look at the untitled special and famous sculpture near the old ferry quai at Lyngvær. You cross the 800m Gimsøy bridge. Then you follow a sideroad to the north peak of the island, and you will stay on a turistfarm at Hov. Interesting archeological place with lot of memories from the "vikings". Possible to do Midnight Sun Golf, and we invite you to a "Midnightsun Bar-Be-Que" on the beach. ( 35 km )

9. Back to E10, to cross the bridge over Sundklokkstraumen. There you follow Rd 815 on the south side of Vestvågøy, the largest of the Lofoten Islands. Interesting finds from the Iron Age. You will stay at Brustranda Camping in Strandslett in good cabins.You can rent a boat or experience beautiful surroundings. ( 31 km )

10. Today you will cycle in the beautiful area of Einangen through Sennesvika, Ramsvika and Fygle. Light traffic. Proceed to Ballstad. You will stay in fisherman cabins (rorbu) in this charming, little fishing village. ( 43 km )

11. Today you board a boat that brings you to the UNESCO protected village Nusfjord. You are in the most dramatic nature and cycle through several picturesque fishings villages. At Sakrisøy you stay over night. Enjoy the Puppet and toy museum and taste fresh home made fish cakes. (40 km)

12. This last day you go to the end of the Lofoten Road in Å. Here you may visit the Fishing Village Museum and the Stockfish Museum, before you go back the 2 kms to Moskenesøy. Here you can retrurn the rental bike. ( 10 km)

From Moskenes you can go back to Svolvær by bus or by ferry to Bodø. One ferry goes via Værøy and Røst. There you can stay over night and join a boat trip to the bird islands from Skomvær lighthouse.

Extra days on the different places can be arranged.
